1834 Capped Bust Quarter, No Motto, B-4, R.1, VF25 PCGS. We catalog this under the PCGS variety number although it is unattributed on the holder. We guarantee all our attributions. This is the common B-4 variety showing star 1 close to the bust and OF AM widely separated on the reverse. Tompkins Die State 2/2, die crack on star 8 across cap to star 7, reverse die crack from A2 downward though wing edge, arrow shafts and lower arrowhead to rim. This is an example of the Small Size, No Motto quarter subtype, struck from 1831–1838.
