A penultimate-year example of the Capped Bust design before the long-running Seated Liberty obverse design would be introduced in mid-1837. This sharp, attractive near-Mint State piece offers light toning and good eye appeal. The Large 5C is a popular Guide Book variety, although they were produced from four different pairs of dies, of which the present V-3, LM-6 marriage is that most often seen.
