1871 Great Britain Shield Reverse Sovereign MS63 PCGS Die #29. Marsh: “Scarce.” A great-looking example of this popular Shield Back, with flowing luster over smooth golden-orange surfaces. The Shield Backs are among the most popular collecting specialties among the British sovereigns, and we must say we think dates such as this are quite underrated. The lower price of gold recently makes this a good time to be putting some nice pieces aside.
