1878-CC Morgan Dollar, Lightly Toned Gem MS65 PCGS. The 1878-CC Morgan dollar is popular equally for its CC mintmark as for its first-year-of-series status. It is a “better date” in all grades, but at the Gem level the certified populations really start to thin out. This piece is lightly toned on the obverse with subtle shades of coral and teal. Light gold peeks out from around the margins of the reverse. Sorry for the rotated photos showing color … my photo editing capabilities are pretty limited, but WYSIWYG!
