1878-S Morgan Dollar MS65+ PCGS CAC Gorgeous Rim Toning, Brilliant Centers. In the higher Mint State grades such as here, the 1878-S Morgan dollar issue is far more elusive than its later S-mint counterparts such as the 1880-S and 1881-S, although all these S-mint issues are extremely well-made—virtually the pinnacle of Morgan dollar manufacture. This MS65+ PCGS CAC example offers effulgent, satiny luster with some bold fiery-red and gold accents, a simply gorgeous example with the CAC green bean. Liberty’s cheek is refreshingly free of major marks. An MS66 will easily cost you twice as much!
