1880/79-CC Reverse of 1878 Morgan Dollar, MS65 PCGS. VAM-4, Top 100 Variety. Just back from being newly encapsulated and graded at PCGS, this coin may someday have an accompanying Trueview if PCGS ever gets caught up. Until then, our photos must suffice. This popular “three dates in one” variety combines a bold overdate on the obverse with the Flat Breast, Parallel Arrow Feather reverse first used in 1878. This piece is satiny and largely untoned, save for a touch of color around the date and lower obverse.
