1908 Monster Toner PR64 PCGS CAC Barber Quarter, Ex: Terry’s Toners

$1,795.00

1908 Monster Toner PR64 PCGS CAC Barber Quarter, Ex: Terry’s Toners. The proof mintage of 1908 Barber quarters was among the low side of the waning years of the denomination, at 545 pieces. However, time and toning have produced this miraculous monster toner near-Gem proof example. A mélange of honey-gold and teal predominates, ceding to rose tints in the central obverse. Notice the sharp strike throughout, including even the top-right corner of the shield on the reverse—usually the weak spot on nearly all business strikes regardless of date. A couple of small hits toward the rear of Liberty’s cap preclude a higher grade but are not bothersome. Our repeat clients (who are many, and we appreciate you all) know that we pay strong money for beautifully toned coins, so throw away your Greysheets and Red Books here. This piece was formerly in the soon-to-be-famous Terry’s Toners Collection. One of only 9 in this grade with the CAC green bean (4/26).
