1917-D Type Two Standing Liberty Quarter, Beautifully Toned MS64 PCGS, High-End Luster! So, we don’t just buy coins. As longtime collectors as well as dealers, we buy coins that “speak to us” in terms of great eye appeal, luster, and all-around collectability. Everything else is secondary to that, especially price. If you just want a meh 1917-D Type Two, sure, shop around, you’ll find one cheaper. But nicely toned Standing Liberty quarters are really tough to find, especially combined with minimal marks and good luster. I would say among 19th–early 20th century silver types, only Barber halves are tougher with those same criteria. A coin you will never regret buying.
