1925-D Lincoln Cent ‘Blue Almond,’ MS65BN PCGS Splendid Semikey! The 1925-D is a somewhat underrated date, in comparison with both its 1924-D and 1925-S counterparts. It is, nonetheless, an elusive date in Gem grade—especially with the beautifully lustrous, glowing color of this Gem Brown example. This piece is nicer than the Trueview on (at least) two counts: One, the O in ONE is complete (if weak) on the coin, while it appears not to be on the Trueview; and two, the small spot above N in UNITED is considerably less obtrusive at actual size than on the Trueview. Considerable amounts of sunset-orange complement the prevailing bluish tinges, and splendid glossy luster is in evidence throughout (also unseen on the Trueview, so I guess that’s three). PCGS Population: 15 in 65 Brown, 2 finer (3/2020).
