1933 Pedley-Ryan Denver So-Called Dollar, Type IV, HK-825, AU55 NGC. This is the most common variety of the Pedley-Ryan so-called dollar varieties in a nice, affordable grade and showing no mentionable distractions other than light wear.

Fun Facts: 1. Pedley and Ryan were an investment house who had these “coins” (really, one-ounce silver ingots) struck to promote a “convenient medium for speculation in silver” and to encourage the “use and popularity of silver as a medium of exchange.”

2. The standard reference to the “so-called dollars” (dollar-sized coins usually showing a scene or related to U.S. history) is “So-Called Dollars: An Illustrated Standard Catalog” by Harold Hibler and Charles Kappen. These are quite a popular series and are cataloged by “HK” numbers.
