1934 Medium Motto Washington Quarter, FS-402, Crusty Toned MS66. The Medium Motto is listed as FS-402 in the ever-useful Cherrypickers’ Guide by Fivaz and Stanton. This lovely Premium Gem offers silver centers with crusty deep orange patina around the rims on both sides. Notice the center point of W is lower than the side peaks. The 1934 Light Motto (FS-401) has weak letters in the motto and the center peak of W is noticeably above the other letters. The 1934 Heavy Motto (FS-403) has thick letters and the peak of W is only slightly above the other letters.
