1936 Delaware Commemorative Half Dollar, Stunning Caramel-Gold MS67 PCGS CAC. Sumptuous caramel-gold patina lavishly embellishes both sides of this Superb Gem Delaware half, further endorsed by CAC. Original tab toning on the reverse attests to this coin’s pristine, unfooled-with appearance. (The coins were held in place with thin-cardboard “tabs” on horizontal and vertical axes that covered the centers but left the peripheries exposed at the four quadrants.) There are no mentionable distractions on either side. PCGS reports 37 finer in MS67+, 5 in MS68, and 1 in MS68+. There are only 2 finer with the CAC endorsement (11/2019).
Fun Fact: This is a famous “three-year coin” dated 1936 on the obverse (church) side, 1938 on the reverse (ship) side, and struck in 1937 (which is on neither side).
