1937-S Texas Commemorative Half, MS67 PCGS CAC, Super Rim Toning. This Superb Gem is one of the finest given the CAC green approval seal. Lovely satin luster abounds thoughout, with silvery centers complementing deep gold, sunset-orange, and red patina at portions of the periphery on both sides. This coin sold as Lot 5367 in Heritage Auctions’ Central States Signature #434 way back in May 2007 for $690. (In fact, I think I probably cataloged this!) Much more recently, two comparable examples, both MS67 PCGS CAC, sold for $1,393 and $1,306, respectively, in July and June 2022. CAC has given the green bean to 92 examples in this grade with none finer (4/2023).
