1948-S Cent MS64BN PCGS ‘Deep Purple.’ Scattered tinges of blue-green complement the prevailing plum and grade shades on both sides of this lustrous near-Gem. The S mintmark is odd, almost looking like an 8 with tiny serifs and a large blobby middle … die damage, or some variety I don’t know (perish the thought!)? Nothing shows in Cherrypickers’ … an interesting and appealing coin. PCGS Population: 2 in 64 Brown, 2 finer (7/2018).
