1960-D/D Large Date Cent RPM D/D West FS-502 MS65RD PCGS. A clear D/D west with lots of die-polishing/repolishing/prep work clearly visible on both sides, largely vertical and extensive die-polishing lines on the obverse and lines running in all directions on the reverse. A slightly later die stage (B/C obverse according to CONECA-Variety Vista) with a partial front hair curl atop Abe’s head. I won’t even begin to hazard a guess what all that stuff in on the lower-left reverse under the Memorial, but it’s quite fascinating. All the errors of the various 1960-dated cents of this year make me wonder if some of the Mint personnel discovered some of that thar marihoochee a few years before the rest of the Woodstock Generation did.
