We were fortunate enough to get first crack from a major dealer in Moderns at several toned gold commemorative half eagles, all certified in early PCGS blue-label holders, formerly in the “Subway Tokens” Collection, the retired #1 PCGS Registry Set. These commemorative half eagles are far more elusive in MS70 than their PR70 counterparts, and these boast gorgeous toning as well. The photos pretty much speak for themselves. These modern commemoratives are now available for prices approaching melt value, now that gold has surged past the $3,000 level.
