We just returned from the Dalton Georgia GNA show, where we couldn’t resist this sensationally toned 1878-CC Morgan dollar certified MS63 PCGS. This is a coin that we unhesitatingly pronounce the most beautifully toned example of this date we have ever offered in our decades as a dealer. We’ll let the photos speak for themselves … This piece was acquired along with several other amazing coins from a collector who had set up at the show to sell his multimillion-dollar inventory—not a single one of which had ever been to CAC, as far as we could determine, as they had been held for decades (CAC began in 2007). A mark at the corner of Liberty’s mouth likely accounts for the grade. This is the VAM-9 “CC Tilted Right” reverse with “Speared O” in ONE.
