1856 Flying Eagle Cent PR64 PCGS-CAC, Blazing Snow-9 Example. The Snow-9 die pairing was apparently the first die pair used to strike the “pattern” 1856 Flying Eagle cents, so it is the die pair usually seen among the proofs in particular. These were presentation pieces presented to Congress (some) and sold to collectors (some), so they tend to either be circulated proofs (from the Congressmen, likely) or to “come nice,” those squirreled away by collectors. This piece is particularly nice for the grade, and it will make its next homeowner VERY happy. With CAC green label, showing it passes their stringent grading standards.
