1883 Gold Dollar MS64 PCGS OGH CAC, Late-Series Low-Mintage Better Date. The unpopularity of the easily lost gold dollars and widespread circulation of larger gold coins slowed the 1880s mintages of gold dollars to a trickle, in the case of the 1883 only 10,800 business strikes. This near-Gem offers sparkling yellow-gold color with only light ticks consistent with the grade; the reverse is notably mark-free and the strike is bold throughout. This near-Gem is certified in an old PCGS green-label holder with the CAC approval. CAC Population: 19 in 64 (3/2024). The CAC Price Guide is currently $1,580.
