1920-D Cent MS64BN PCGS ‘Blue Amber,’ Ex: ‘Abe’s Coloring Book’. The 1920-D cent is not as elusive as some of its S-mint counterparts from the 1920s, but Gem examples are nonetheless scarce. This near-Gem offers lovely deep blues, rose, and amber on the reverse. This coin, of course, hails from the famous Abe’s Coloring collection put together by our dear (now departed) friend Carl Unger, formerly the #1 PCGS Toned Lincolns, Wheat Reverse (1909–1958) Registry Set at PCGS. We have now put together two complete sets of toned Wheaties (and have two other 1920-Ds, one MS65BN and one MS64BN CAC). But Carl did it first, with class and kindness. This is a special coin for a modest price that we hope some true collector will treasure.
