1921 Peace Dollar With Splendid Color and a Hammered Strike MS64 PCGS-CAC. You simply don’t see 1921 Peace dollars with this kind of spectacular patina — the photos are accurate — and certainly not with the sort of hammered strike through the centers of both sides that this piece possesses. We paid a lot for this coin, and it’s worth it. As expected, there are a few scattered marks under the patina that preclude a Gem grade, but that shouldn’t bother anyone given the obvious quality on display here. (It didn’t bother John Albanese at CAC, either.)
