1942-S Walking Liberty Half Frosted, Untoned MS66 PCGS CAC. One of the later-date S-mint keys to the Walking Liberty “short set,” the 1942-S is generally hard to find nice. And certainly few survive as unmarked as this stunning, frosty Premium Gem, showing rich, frosty luster and a sharp strike save for Liberty’s branch hand and the eagle’s rear (facing) leg. The fields on both sides are remarkably free of the normal chatter seen on so many examples of this issue. CAC reports only two higher-graded examples with the green bean (9/2019).
