British Virgin Islands $1 Silver 1974-FM PR68DCAM PCGS, Giant Frigate Bird. KM-6a. 38 mm. 25.7 gm, 0.925 (sterling) silver, ASW 0.7643 oz. No, I didn’t say “giant friggin’ bird,” although I guess it is that as well. The Magnificent Frigatebird is a seabird with a wingspan of well over 2 meters, and this large crown-sized coin has a big-enough palette to do justice to a trio of them, accompanied by pretty coral-rose and pale blue-green patina. PCGS Population: 9 in 68DCAM, 1 finer (5/2020).
