1919-D Lincoln Cent, Glossy PCGS MS65 Brown. Lincoln cent fans will probably understand when I describe this coin as having a “hard blue” appearance: hammered glossy surfaces, brown with a consistent overlay of steel-blue that could veer (but doesn’t much) into either blue-green or purple. The D-mints of the teens don’t get much respect compared to the S-mints in Mint State, but they aren’t exactly easy, either. The PCGS Price Guide is $450. PCGS Population: a measly 14 in 65 Brown, 1 finer (9/2017).
