Austria 1916 Silver One Corona, Emperor Franz Joseph I, Toned MS65 PCGS. 5 gm 0.835 silver, 0.1342 oz ASW. KM-2820. Franz Joseph I (1830–1916) was one of Europe’s longest-reigning monarchs, reigning over the Austro-Hungarian Empire from 1848 until his death. The assassination of his nephew and heir-apparent Franz Ferdinand plunged the world into World War I in 1914. The 1916 is the last of these one corona issues depicting his profile. This is a lovely toned Gem example.
