Austria 1930 Silver Two Schilling, Toned MS64 PCGS, Walther von der Vogelweide. KM-2845. The 12th–13th century Minnesänger Walther von der Vogelweide is regarded as the most prominent German lyrical poet before Goethe. He is seated on the obverse with the birds surrounding him a pictorial pun on his name, and the standard Austrian shield (actually 10 shields) features on the reverse. The toning is deepest but not terminal at the reverse rim.
