1826 Bust Half Dollar, Undergraded AU50 PCGS OGH, Lovely Peripheral Toning, O-113, R.3. Certified in a PCGS old green-label holder (OGH), this nicely toned Bust half would today likely grade at least AU53 if not AU55. Much silvery luster with a touch of gold appears in the fields on both side, deepening to rose and steel-blue at the upper obverse and correspondingly at the lower reverse. There are no distracting marks and little sign of wear on the high points. The small tine from the left end of the scroll bearing the motto on the reverse and the several vertical shield lines extending up into the horizontal stripes provide the easy attribution. This coin is not certified as to the Overton variety on the slab, but we guarantee all our attributions 100% based on our many decades as a dealer and more than 10 years as a cataloger at Heritage Auctions.
