1942-D Cent MS65BN PCGS ‘Azulejo.’ “Azulejos” are beautiful Spanish and Portuguese tiles, and the glossy surfaces of this Gem cent, a deep blue with glints of wine and plum, remind me of those glossy tiles. The 1942-D is not an uncommon coin by any means, but just try to find a nice Gem Brown example … especially one nicer than this! PCGS Population: 7 in 65 Brown, 2 finer (7/2018).
