1967 non-SMS Kennedy Half ‘Picasso Color’ MS66 PCGS. The 1965–67 SMS (Special Mint Set) coins can generally be found in grades up through the occasional MS68. The non-SMS 1965–67 coins were the workhorses, the first 40% silver Kennedys struck for circulation, and boy howdy, did they take a beating. As a result, they are really, really tough in the highest Mint State grades (MS65 and higher). This one was advertised as “Picasso Color” when I bought it, and it does have some unusual but totally natural coloration. The nice, spiffy photo from Todd really does it justice.
